Fourth annual Energy and Economic Summit to take place in Istanbul
Baku, August 21 (AzerTAc). The fourth annual Energy and Economic Summit will take place in Istanbul, Turkey from November 15-16, 2012. The Summit is a unique annual initiative launched by the Council`s Eurasia Center in cooperation with its partners in the Black Sea, Caspian and Central Asian regions. The Summit`s goal is to promote regional cooperation, investment, and trade, as well as to strengthen a sense of community in the greater Black Sea area.
In 2009, 2010 and 2011 the Summit was known as the Black Sea Energy and Economic Forum.
The Atlantic Council Energy and Economic Summit, now in its fourth year, continues to grow in scope and size in accordance with its mission to be the preeminent annual event on energy, politics, and business in the broader Black Sea and Caspian region; from Central Asia in the east to the Levant, the Balkans, and Central Europe in the west. Taking place right after the 2012 US elections, this year`s Istanbul Summit will bring together distinguished US, European, and Eurasian leaders for a lively two-day debate on values, business opportunities, energy development, and political challenges in a region standing at the crossroads of history.
With plenary sessions, bilateral meetings, breakouts, networking opportunities, and access to key decision-makers, the 2012 Istanbul Summit will address such critical issues as latest on current and future oil & gas supplies for Europe, broader global market trends, shale gas, and the rise of renewables, post-financial crisis growth strategies, new models for development, transportation and telecommunications, and reviving the Silk Road, Post-US election foreign policy, business prospects and reform in the Arab world.
