15th Turkish World Youth Days and congress wraps up in Istanbul
Istanbul, 20 December (AZERTAC). As earlier reported, the World Turkish Youth Union has hosted the 15th Turkish world youth days and congress in Turkey, within the 20th anniversary of the Organization.
The first summit of WTYU`s Women Council has also been held as part of the congress.
Representative of Azerbaijan Narmin Karimli stressed the importance discussing topics at the summit.
The speakers of the event suggested such proposals in the direction of further expansion of the cooperation and discussed women’s duties to the effect.
The Committee for creation of the World Turkish Women Organization under the WTYU was established at the event. Mrs. Karimli was elected a member of the Committee.
The event also featured holding of the WTYU`s Commissions meeting.
Representatives of the National Assembly of Youth Organization of Azerbaijan (NAYORA) attended the event.
Deputy Chairman of the NAYORA Mirhasan Seyidov, in his speech, touched upon the history, as well as activity direction of the Council.
He also stressed importance of the further strengthening of solidarity and cooperative relations among the Turkish peoples` youth, hailing organization of the Turkish world youth days and congress for reaching the agreement on the joint activity in the future.
On Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, he also briefed the participants on occupation of 20 percents of Azerbaijan`s territories by Armenian Armed Forces and condemned Armenia’s occupation policy.
The speakers also noted that the Turkish Youth had a great responsibility against the background further strengthening of the solidarity and cooperative relations among the Turkic Speaking peoples.
Following the event, Mirhasan Seyidov, on his contributions to the activity of WTYU, received “The Service Award”.
Akram Abdullayev was re-elected the Chairman of WTYU Executive Committee.
The book of the World Turkish Youth Writers Union on Khojaly massacre has also been presented at the event, which was published by the financial support of the Council of State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations under the President of Azerbaijan, within the “Armenian vandalism on material and non-material heritage of Azerbaijan” project.
Chairman of the World Turkish Youth Writers Union Akbar Goshali, head of the Association of Economic Relations of Eurasia Hikmet Eren and others provided information on the heavy results of the Khojaly massacre.
The different events to the effect aroused keen interest among the participants.
The 15th Turkish world youth days and congress supported by Azerbaijan`s Ministry of Youth and Sport and Azerbaijan Youth Foundation has already wrapped up in Turkey.
