Baku, October 14, AZERTAC
Three soldiers were martyred Friday by a bomb planted along a highway by the PKK terrorist organization in Turkey's southeastern province of Mardin, security sources said, Anadolu Agency reports.
According to the sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to the media, PKK terrorists detonated the explosive as a military vehicle was traveling along the Mardin-Diyarbakir highway.
Ambulances immediately rushed to the scene and took the wounded to local hospitals.
An operation was launched in the region to apprehend the terrorists.
The PKK – listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and EU – resumed its decades-old armed campaign in July 2015.
Since then, PKK terrorist attacks have martyred more than 700 security force members and also claimed the lives of many civilians, including women and children, while around 8,000 PKK terrorists have been killed or apprehended.
