The 3rd meeting of the Women’s Wing of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) has started in Baku organized by the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP).
Opening the meeting, co-chair of the ICAPP Women's Wing, member of YAP Political Council, MP Malahat Ibrahimgizi said that the event aims to achieve cooperation for the future development of the continent, including ensuring peace, security and sustainable development in the region by bringing together woman politicians of Asia.
Deputy chair of the Saenuri Party of the Republic of Korea Park In-sook, member of YAP Political Council, MP Bahar Muradova, member of YAP Political Council, chairwoman of the Azerbaijan State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs Hijran Huseynova, minister for Commerce and Supplies of Nepal Sunil Bahadur Thapa, member of the Committee of the General Secretariat of CAPP Zeinab Ahmed Eltayeb Ibrahim and secretary of Training and Internatonal Relations, Citizen’s Movement of Mexico Vania Roxana Avila García emphasized the significance of the activity of the ICAPP Women`s Wing.
The event was then followed by plenary meetings on the issues of women’s involvement in society, government bodies and other areas, their education and health, elimination of women poverty.
The event will culminate with the adoption of Baku Statement.
The meeting brings together more than 60 women politicians from Turkey, China, Russia, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, India, Japan, the Korean Republic, Kyrgyzstan, Lao, Libya, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, Bangladesh, Malaysia, the Philippines, Cambodia and Nicaragua.
