First test container train arrives in Baku on Shikhezi-Dostik-Aktau-Alat route VIDEO

The first test container train "Nomand express" has today arrived at Baku International Sea Port from China on Shikhezi (China)-Dostik-Aktau-Alat route.
The ceremony to welcome the train was attended by First Deputy Premier Abid Sharifov, Deputy Minister of Transport Arif Asgarov, chairman of Azerbaijan Railways Javid Gurbanov, chairmen of the Kazakhstan and Georgian railway companies and Baku, Batumi, Aktau ports and Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping officials.
Addressing the event, Director General of Baku International Sea Trade Port Taleh Ziyadov noted that the launch of the first stage of construction of the Baku International Sea Trade Complex in Alat was held with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev on September 22, 2014.
Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways Javid Gurbanov said size of goods to be transported through the International Transcaspian Transport route would be 300,000-400,000 containers.
Deputy Transport Minister Arif Asgarov, President of Kazakhstan Railways Askar Mamin, Director General of Georgian Railways Mamuka Bakhtadze also highlighted the importance of the International Transcaspian Route.
The second container train is expected to embark on China-Kazakhstan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey route in September.
