Bucharest, November 24, AZERTAC
"The 5 th News Agencies World Congress, where media giants from all continents were represented, featured fruitful discussions on the ways of addressing the challenges facing modern media. The 5th Baku Congress was a very good platform for the meeting of the world news agencies, and also created a good opportunity for us for conducting experience exchange. I am confident that the discussions which were held at the Congress will yield fruits," Director General of Romanian national news agency AGERPRES Alexandru Giboi has told AZERTAC`s Bucharest-based correspondent.
He said participants of the Congress and the 16th General Assembly of the Organization of Asia Pacific News Agencies (OANA) commended the excellent organization of both events. He thanked the Azerbaijani President, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and AZERTAC for the hospitality and for the excellent organizational work.
Alexandru Giboi hailed Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's speech at the opening ceremony of the events. He also highlighted ongoing development in Baku. "It was not my first visit to Azerbaijan. I was impressed with the changes I see each time I am visiting Azerbaijan. Baku is one of my favourite cities. Azerbaijan, a friendly country to Romania, has rich culture and an ancient history. All these aspects, particularly the country's tourism potential should be promoted even more. Such prestigious events held in Baku create a very good opportunity from this point of view," he added.
