Baku, June 4 (AZERTAC). “A new information portal to be soon created by Argentine TELAM news agency, called ANSUR, will feature an Azerbaijani section,” said Institutional Communications Development Manager at TELAM Juan Manuel Fonrouge.
Together with International Relations Manager at Spanish EFE Agency Juan Maria Calvo and Counselor of the Argentine Embassy Gabriel Alejandro Forquera, Mr. Manuel Fonrouge visited Azerbaijan State Telegraph Agency to meet Director General Aslan Aslanov.
Mr. Manuel Fonrouge said the website would feature news about Azerbaijan in Spanish, English and Portuguese languages.
Mr. Aslanov provided an insight into the history of AZERTAC, and the agency`s role in ensuring the Azerbaijani government`s information policy.
He praised AZERTAC`s cooperation with TELAM and EFE agencies as part of international organizations.
Mr. Aslanov said AZERTAC would host meetings of the world’s two leading media organizations in 2016 – the 16th General Assembly of the Organization of the Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) and the 5th World Congress of News Agencies (NAWC). He described this as “a brilliant opportunity” for AZERTAC to broaden its relations.
Mr. Manuel Fonrouge, who is also the president of the Latin American Union of News Agencies (ULAN), said ANSUR news website would soon be launched in Argentina, adding it will offer news in Azerbaijani language too. He said the website will provide news about Azerbaijan, saying this will contribute to promoting Azerbaijan`s tourism potential in Argentina.
Both Mr. Aslanov and Mr. Manuel Fonrouge stressed the possibility of opening bureaus of AZERTAC and TELAM in Argentina and Azerbaijan respectively, saying this will contribute to strengthening the relations between the two agencies.
Mr. Maria Calvo praised Azerbaijan`s development. He proposed placing news, photos and videos about Azerbaijan`s tourism potential on EFE`s website.
Counselor of the Argentine Embassy Mr. Alejandro Forquera said Azerbaijan had rich natural and human resources. He stressed the importance of boosting cooperation between the two countries in the fields of culture and tourism.
The delegation then toured AZERTAC, and met staff of the agency`s English, French and Russian language services.
