Argentine daily newspaper highlights World Chess Olympiad to be held in Azerbaijan

Baku, June 5, AZERTAC

Argentine daily newspaper La Nación has published an article about the World Chess Olympiad due to take place in Azerbaijan in September. The article features an interview with Azerbaijani charge d'affaires in Argentina Rashad Aslanov, who said more than 3000 sportsmen from 170 countries would gather in Baku to contest medals of the World Chess Olympiad.

"We have rich experience in hosting such large-scale events. In 2015, Azerbaijan successfully hosted World Chess Cup and first European Games," said Aslanov.

He also said Azerbaijan pinned great hopes on its chess players as outstanding work had been done in the country to develop chess.
