Aghdam, April 30, AZERTAC
"Armenian armed forces starting from April 1 have kept under intense fire the villages in Aghdam. As a result of the firing, hundreds of houses have been destroyed, a number of civilians have been wounded and killed, property and farms have been seriously damaged," head of Aghdam district Executive Authority Ragub Mammadov has told local and foreign journalists visiting the frontline.
"Despite Azerbaijan and Armenia agreed to restore ceasefire the enemy shell the residential areas of the region every day. On the night of April 27-28 the enemy kept our positions under intense and severe fire. Some 91 houses were damaged, while 16 were fully destroyed. A school building, a kindergarten, the building of the local administration, as well as electrical lines were damaged," Mammadov said.
"A civilian was killed, while eight of them were injured as a result of the Armenian shelling. One of the wounded died the next day," he added.
Mammadov said that local residents had to work in the fields, but due to the enemy's shelling they could not approach their farms.
He said that fighting spirits were high in the district: "All we need is the Supreme Commander's order and all of us will take up arms against the enemy. We want the enemy to know that we will fight until the last drop of our blood. We believe that our occupied territories will be liberated, Azerbaijani territorial integrity will be restored and the displaced people will return to their homes."
