Baku, May 23, AZERTAC
"Rapid development of advanced technology creates serious challenges for news agencies," said AZERTAC Director General Aslan Aslanov in his interview with journalists on the sidelines of a meeting of the News Agencies World Council (NACO) in Baku.
The Director General noted that NACO's meeting featured discussions on preparations for the 5th News Agencies World Congress (NAWC) to be hosted by AZERTAC in Baku on November 16-17, 2016. "The Council members discussed the program of the Congress, the list of speakers and terms of a photo contest to be held as part of the Congress," he noted.
Mr Aslanov said that Baku Congress would focus on globally important challenges faced by the international media community. "Relationship between social and traditional media will top the agenda of Baku Congress. Prominent representatives of the global media community will attend the Congress to seek ways of addressing these challenges," Mr Aslanov said.
"People are communicating in an unhindered manner without any geographical or time limits thanks to social media, but this also poses serious challenges to traditional media. Finding solutions to these problems will be discussed during the 5th News Agencies World Congress to be held in Baku," he added.
