Astana to host first meeting of CCTS ministers of information and media issues

The first meeting of the ministers of information and media issues of Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (CCTS) will be held in Astana on August 18.

Azerbaijani delegation led by President`s aide for socio-political affairs Ali Hasanov will include Director General of Azerbaijan State Information Agency (AZERTAC) Aslan Aslanov and Director General of the Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Company Jamil Guliyev.

Secretary General of the Turkic Council, Ambassador Ramil Hasanov (moderator), Investment and Development Minister of Kazakhstan Asset Issekeshev, Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism of Kyrgyzstan Altynbek Maksudov and Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Yalcin Akdogan will attend the event.

The attendees will discuss and approve the report of the Coordination Group for the Establishment of International Turkic News Channel, and will approve the conception document for the Turkic Council`s channel, the joint Cooperation Protocol on information and media, as well as will sign a Cooperation Protocol among national television channels of the Turkic Council, and the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation among news agencies of the Turkic Council.

The meeting will also discuss aspects of cooperation between CCTS countries on the spheres of information and media, and will determine a location for the second meeting.
