Azerbaijan, Brazil mull development of bilateral ties
During the meeting, Khalafov praised the level of cooperation between the two countries, saying that there is great potential for further development of relations in the cultural, humanitarian and commercial fields. He also stressed the active cooperation within the framework of international organizations.
Hadila Fontes da Rocha Vianna, who arrived in Azerbaijan for the second time, praised the role of embassies in the development of relations between the two countries. He said that despite the economic crisis, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Brazil has increased, so Azerbaijan is a reliable partner for Brazil.
During the meeting, Mr. Khalafov also touched upon the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Noting that this conflict is a serious threat to the region as Armenia didn’t implement the resolutions of the UN Security Council.
The deputy minister also spoke of the large-scale projects implemented in the region and stressed the role of these projects in development of cooperation and increase of trade turnover.
Representatives of the countries also discussed other issues of mutual interest.
