Azerbaijan, Iran discuss ICT cooperation
During the meeting, they discussed cooperation prospects between the two countries in the field of television broadcasting.
Minister Ali Abbasov underlined the meetings held between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, as well as meetings of the Azerbaijani-Iranian intergovernmental commission for cooperation in trade, economic and humanitarian spheres played a special role in expanding the bilateral cooperation.
Noting the cooperation between the two countries has entered a new stage of development, the radio and television broadcasting has a special place in this development, the Minister also said there were new opportunities to boost the relations in several areas, including in the use of satellite services.
Zarghami stressed the meetings held between the heads of state gave a new impetus to the expansion of bilateral ties in a variety of fields, as well as improved relations between the two countries, and noted the existence of mutual interest in the continuation of this cooperation.
Then, the Iranian chairman was provided with detailed information about the work carried out in Azerbaijan in the field of Radio and TV broadcasting. The parties discussed existing relations in this field between the two countries as well as exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.
It was noted that taking into account the development of digital TV channels and the Internet, moral programs to be interesting and useful for users of the two countries should be prepared, exchange of these programs should be organized.
The parties also decided to commence work on the establishment of the Iran-Azerbaijan Joint Commission on Radio and Television.
