Azerbaijan State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents and the Academy of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has signed a mutual action plan for the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding which was inked by between WIPO and Azerbaijan in 2014.
The signing ceremony was held on the sidelines of the 55th Series of Meetings of the Assemblies of the Member States of WIPO in Geneva, Switzerland.
A delegation of the State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents represented Azerbaijan at the event.
Addressing the Assembly's session, chairman of the committee Ramiz Hasanov hailed WIPO's contribution to the protection of intellectual property rights in Azerbaijan.
On the sidelines of the event, the Azerbaijani delegation held a meeting with the WIPO Director General Francis Gurry, who recalled his visit to Azerbaijan and his meeting with President Ilham Aliyev. He said the MoU will gave an impetus to the expansion of bilateral cooperation.
