Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra performs in Hannover
The Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra after Uzeyir Hajibeyli has given a concert in Hannover as part of the Days of Azerbaijani Culture in Germany.
The concert was organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and supported by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Germany.
Addressing the event, Ambassador Farid Shahbazov said this concert was one of the series of events held at the initiative of Azerbaijan`s first lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva. The diplomat also highlighted the rapid development of Azerbaijan, as well as its rich music traditions. He noted that Karabakh, known as the “conservatoire” of Azerbaijan, has been occupied by Armenia.
The host of the event highlighted the activities of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and its president Mehriban Aliyeva, and said important works done by the Foundation and its President Mehriban Aliyeva in Azerbaijan and foreign countries towards promoting cultural heritage, propagation of cultural relations and education of the youth.
Conducted by Fuad Ibrahimov the Orchestra performed pieces of national and classical music.
The event participants were presented with Professor Eva-Maria Auch`s "German traces in Azerbaijan" book, a new publication of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
The event also featured a photo exhibition titled "German traces in Azerbaijan" and an exposition comprised of art works by the winners of the competition "Germany through the eyes of an artist".
The event was attended by director of the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Hall Murad Adigozalzade, Deputy Mayor of Hannover Thomas Herrman, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Germany, journalists and public figures.
