Azerbaijan Trade House opens in Belarus

Azerbaijan Trade House has been opened in the Belarusian capital Minsk.

Azerbaijani delegation led by Economy Minister Shahin Mustafayev attended the opening ceremony.

Addressing the event, Azerbaijan`s Minister of Economy Shahin Mustafayev said the heads of states attach great importance to deepening relations between the two countries. Mr. Mustafayev highlighted developing Azerbaijani-Belarusian relations, adding mutual friendship and partnership lie at the heart of the ties. The Minister stressed the role of the heads of states in boosting cooperation.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Vladimir Makei stressed the importance of reciprocal visits in development of cooperation, expansion of the trade-economic bonds between the two countries. The Minister also highlighted the opening Azerbaijani Trade House in Belarus as an important step in boosting ties.

The event also saw speeches by the country`s Ambassador to Belarus Latif Gandilov, Chairman of the Economic Policy Committee of Azerbaijan`s Parliament Ziyad Samadzade.

The decision to open a trading house was made at the 10th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Belarus Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.

The Trade House is created to support the promotion of Azerbaijani goods under the ‘Made in Azerbaijan’ brand in Belarus, and engage in marketing research, participation in exhibitions and other activities related to the promotion of Azerbaijani goods.

The entity in Belarus became the first Trade House established as part of the state policy to encourage export of Azerbaijani production.

In late 2016, with a view to bring the economy to a new level Azerbaijan started promoting the ‘Made in Azerbaijan’ brand in foreign markets and developed a number of promotional mechanisms.

The country seeks to open trade houses in foreign countries to facilitate the export process, promote an export of competitive Azerbaijani production and enable the countries to expand trade operations.
