Azerbaijan, Ukraine to increase bilateral agrarian trade
Baku, March 13, AZERTAC
“Mutually advantageous development of trade and economic relations in agro-industrial sphere and the increase in trade are very important both to Ukraine and Azerbaijan, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Kutovoy said during a meeting with an Azerbaijani delegation led by Minister of Economy Shahin Mustafayev.
"Ukraine is a powerful player in the world food security system. The agro-industrial sector of our country not only increases production, but also boosts the export of products. I think there are all prerequisites for the growth of trade between Ukraine and Azerbaijan,” Kutovoy pointed out.
The minister briefed the Azerbaijani delegation on the course of reforms in Ukraine, state support of farmers, land reforms, privatization of state enterprises, provision of sanitary requirements, and development of the organic market.
The Azerbaijani side expressed interest in increasing trade with Ukraine both in quantitative terms and in expanding the range of supplies. “Ukraine can supply sunflower oil, cereals, soybeans, corn, meat, chocolate to Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan, in turn, can supply vegetables, hazelnuts, wine and tea to Ukraine.”
