Azerbaijan and Kuwait to develop cooperation in ICT sphere
Azerbaijan`s Minister of Communications and High Technologies Ali Abbasov has met a delegation led by Minister of State for Youth Affairs of Kuwait Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Hmoud Al-Sabah.
Speaking on friendly ties between Azerbaijan and Kuwait, Minister Ali Abbasov stressed the great potential for further development of cooperation in the field of information and communication technologies. Noting Kuwait’s noteworthy achievements in this field, the Minister informed the delegation about main activities of the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies (MCHT) and spoke about the prospects of future cooperation.
In turn, Minister Al-Sabah said Kuwait attaches great importance to the establishment of intensive relations with Azerbaijan, and expressed his country’s interest in developing the Azerbaijani-Kuwaiti relations based on friendship and cooperation in accordance with the interests of the two peoples.
Highlighting Kuwait’s ICT strategy and public policy in this area, Mr. Al-Sabah put forward the idea of creating a technical group between Azerbaijan and Kuwait in terms of developing the relations, and preparing of proposals to identify further areas of cooperation in the ICT sector. Furthermore, the Kuwaiti Minister said the relationship between the sides enters into a new stage of development and from this point of view reciprocal visits are of great importance. Noting his country’s interest in participating in the exhibition Bakutel, the Kuwaiti Minister expressed willingness of his country’s ICT companies to be represented at the 20th telecommunications exhibition.
