Azerbaijan attends wine tourism conference in Georgia

As was reported earlier, the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) is organizing the 1st UNWTO Global Conference on Wine Tourism in the Kakheti wine region of Georgia in collaboration with the Georgian National Tourism Administration.
Addressing the conference participants, Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili spoke of huge tourism potential of his country and wine-growing traditions here. He expressed his pleasure for organizing the wine conference in this ancient land.
The Georgian Premier said cooperation of regional countries in this sphere would be very useful.
Taleb Rifai, UNWTO Secretary-General informed about wine tourism, underlining that it was a growing segment with immense opportunities to diversify demand. “In the case of Georgia, the segment’s potential is well known and we are very pleased to be holding the first UNWTO Global Conference on Wine Tourism in the country”, he added.
The 1st UNWTO Global Conference on Wine Tourism in the Kakheti wine region of Georgia will last till September 9 and the conferees will visit separate wine-making factories, share views on further development of this branch of economy.
The conference brings together 250 experts from 42 world countries, including Azerbaijan.
