Azerbaijan is Austria`s ‘largest’ economic partner in the region

“Azerbaijan is the largest economic partner for Austria in the region,” said Austrian Deputy Minister of the Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs Michael Linhart as he met with Azerbaijani Deputy FM Khalaf Khalafov.
He said the two countries maintained cooperation under joint projects in infrastructure, agriculture, railway, culture, science and education. Linhart also praied political dialogue between Azerbaijan and Austria.
Khalafov highlighted “positive” dynamics of the Azerbaijan-Austria relations and intensive political dialogue.
The Deputy FM expressed hope that the visit of the Austrian delegation to the country would contribute to the development of the bilateral relations. He said there was good potential for enhancing the cooperation.
Khalafov also spoke of energy and transport projects involving Azerbaijan.
The Deputy FM also highlighted the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, noting the dispute is a source of serious threat to the region.
