Azerbaijan takes over UN Security Council presidency
Baku, May 1 (AZERTAC). The rotating presidency of the UN Security Council passed to Azerbaijan from May 1.
The UN Security Council`s May agenda will focus on the situation in the Middle East and non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, as well as the prevention of international terrorism.
“It is very important for Azerbaijan to be a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council and chair the organization. Azerbaijan intends to hold special discussions on the fight against international terrorism,” Azerbaijan`s Ambassador to UN Agshin Mehdiyev told United Nations Radio.
