Azerbaijan to develop cattle breeding and artificial insemination services

The UN Food & Agriculture Organization (FAO) starts implementation of Pedigree Cattle Breeding Development Project in Azerbaijan.

Relevant agreement on the project was signed by Agriculture Minister Heydar Asadov and FAO country representative Mustafa Imir, the Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan said.

"The two-year project includes seed and breeding work, improvement of the efficiency of livestock services breeding livestock with the aim of improving livestock productivity and growth of income of farmers," the Ministry stated.

According to the Ministry, the project also envisages to create an association of experts in the field of artificial insemination.
