Baku, January 6, AZERTAC
Azerbaijan`s State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons has urged international organizations to take necessary measures to ensure the return of the corpse of Azerbaijani soldier Chingiz Salman Gurbanov, who was martyred while preventing the provocative and subversive actions of the reconnaissance group of Armenian armed forces which attempted to violate the state border of Azerbaijan on December 29, 2016.
"Although a week has passed since the incident, Armenia's authorities in charge of this area prefer to remain silent and do not consider it expedient to comment on this sensitive humanitarian issue,” the Commission told AZERTAC.
“This fact once again proves that the Armenian side tries to hide the humanitarian nature of the incident, to win time in order to gain political dividends, and that its activities are aimed at domestic audience," the Commission said.
"The State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons urges relevant international organizations to take necessary measures to ensure that Armenia ends this inhumane activity, complies with the requirements of the Geneva Conventions and returns the corpse of the Azerbaijani soldier," the Commission added.
