Azerbaijani Ambassador in Rome presents letter of credence to FAO Director-General

Azerbaijan`s Ambassador to Italy Mammad Ahmadzade has presented a letter of credence to Director-General of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Jose Graziano da Silva as he was appointed the permanent representative of the country to the UN agencies in Rome.
The Director-General hailed the relations between Azerbaijan and FAO, and recalled his meetings with President Ilham Aliyev in Baku and Rome. He expressed confidence that the FAO Partnership and Liaison Office, which opened in Baku last year, would contribute to the development of existing ties between the organization and the country.
Mr. Ahmadzade said that the Azerbaijani government attached special attention to the ties with FAO, adding these relations were very important for the country in terms of developing the agricultural field . He noted that the sector of agriculture was priority in Azerbaijan.
The sides also discussed the current state and prospects of the relations between FAO and Azerbaijan.
