Azerbaijani Ambassador presents credentials to Queen Elizabeth II

Azerbaijani Ambassador to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Tahir Taghizade has handed over his credentials to Queen Elizabeth II.
Mr. Taghizade conveyed greetings of President Ilham Aliyev to Queen Elizabeth II.
The diplomat said relations between the two countries had been developing. The Ambassador noted that he would spare no efforts to contribute to strengthening the Azerbaijan-UK ties during his tenure.
Queen Elizabeth II asked Tahir Taghizade to pass on her greetings to President Ilham Aliyev, and expressed confidence that built on a strong foundation, dynamic partnership between the two countries would continue to develop.
Following the ceremony at the Buckingham Palace, a reception was arranged at the Embassy of Azerbaijan in the UK to mark the occasion.
The event brought together ambassadors of foreign countries accredited in London, members of the House of Lords, the official of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the UK and public figures.
Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps Alistair Harrison wished the diplomat success in his activities, and expressed confidence that bilateral bonds between the two countries would continue to develop.
Ambassador Tahir Taghizade said the UK and Azerbaijan were reliable partners. He noted that there was ample potential for deepening bilateral cooperation in the fields of energy, education, healthcare, finance, banking, tourism and information technologies.
