Azerbaijani FM delivers lecture at ADA University
Baku, July 17, AZERTAC
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has delivered a lecture at the ADA University for participants of 9th Baku Annual Summer Energy School.
Mr Mammadyarov drew the audience`s attention to Azerbaijan`s accomplishments in political, economic, social and other spheres in the last ten years, priorities of Azerbaijan's foreign policy, relations with the international community in bilateral and multilateral formats, Armenia`s aggression against Azerbaijan, and the negotiations mediated by the OSCE Minsk Group.
The FM stressed that the presence of the Armenian armed forces in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan remains the major obstacle in the settlement of the conflict. “Relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council demand immediate, unconditional and full withdrawal of occupying forces from all occupied lands of Azerbaijan,” said Mr Mammadyarov, adding that this position is also supported by the documents of other international organizations, including OSCE, OIC, CoE, and Non-Aligned Movement. He said Armenia was recognized as an occupying force in the European Court of Human Rights` decision on Chiragov and others vs Armenia case.
Mr Mammadyarov emphasized the importance of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway and TANAP and TAP gas pipeline projects. He pointed out Azerbaijan's contribution to the global dialogue of cultures and civilizations
The FM then responded to questions from Summer Energy School participants.
