"Sending 400 observers to Azerbaijan isn't logical", the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister stated at his meeting with the members of the delegation of the ad hoc Committee on the electoral observation mission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), the press service of the Foreign Ministry said.

The Foreign Minister noted that some international organizations will be invited to observe the elections.

According to him, the necessary arrangements for the democratic, fair and transparent atmosphere of the parliamentary elections scheduled to be held on November 1 and all the conditions for observers have been created.

Elmar Mammadyarov stressed that while ODIHR sends 400 or 500 observers to OSCE member states with a population of over 100 million people , sending of 400 observers for 125 constituencies to Azerbaijan with a population of 9.5 million is disproportionate and does not meet any logic.

Noting the methodology of ODIHR's observation of the elections is not based on any criteria or logic, the Minister recalled that the mandate of ODIHR primarily provides the support in the election for the member states of OSCE.

He expressed the hope that this issue will be discussed with the participation of the OSCE chairman, and acceptable way out of the situation will be found.

The members of the delegation of the Committee ad hoc on the election observation mission of the PACE noted that they held fruitful meetings and got acquainted with the pre-election atmosphere and took the necessary steps to observe the elections.
