Azerbaijani Interior Minister meets BP’s regional President

Interior Minister of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Ramil Usubov has met BP’s regional president for Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey Gordon Birrell.

The Azerbaijani Minister noted that Great Britain is one of the first countries to recognize Azerbaijan's independence, underlining the developing bilateral relations in many fields between the two countries.

Touching upon the First European Games to be held in Baku, Mr. Usubov noted that more than 24 thousand officers were involved in safety protection measures for this purpose. He expressed confidence that the games will be held with high security and in atmosphere of tranquility as the previous international events held in Baku.

Saying he first visited Baku in the first years of independence, Mr. Birrel recalled his meeting with national leader Heydar Aliyev. At his words, on his next visits to the region he was eye-witness of the rapid development of Azerbaijan, its capital Baku, stability and high level protection of peace, as well as ensuring security. He underlined BP has always attached importance to the deepening of cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the country.
