Azerbaijani chess player tops European championship

Azerbaijani chess player Ziya Mammadov tops the European Championship among schoolchildren in Greece.

Mammadov scored 6 points after 7 rounds.

The tournament is held in six age groups between boys and girls.

In girls U13 age group Azerbaijani chess player Sabina Rzali ranks second with 6 points.

Aydin Suleymanli shares second and third places with 5,5 pointes of 6 in boys U11 age group.

In boys U15 age group Babek Jafarli also shares second and fourth places with 5 points of 6, while Susan Mammadova ranks second with 5 points of 6 in girls U15 age group.

The 9-round tournament will last till June 25.
