Azerbaijani citizen who crossed into Armenia identified

As a result of the investigation jointly conducted by the Azerbaijan State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing People and relevant international organizations and government agencies, an Azerbaijani citizen who crossed into Armenia on June 7, 2016 has been identified.

"She was identified as Gatiba Alakbarova, born in 1977, a resident of Arabachi village, Gadabay region," the State Commission said.

“The investigation determined that she was an inhabitant of Gazakh mental hospital.”

The State Commission said it was working to ensure her release.

"Further information on the issue will be made public," the State Commission said.
