Azerbaijani citizen who crossed into Armenia released

As a result of the fruitful negotiations of Azerbaijan State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing People with relevant international organizations, Azerbaijani citizen Gatiba Alakbarova, born in 1977, who crossed into the territory of Armenia on June 7, 2016, was released on June 10.

“Taking into account Gatiba Alakbarova's state of health after her release she was handed over to Gazakh mental hospital where she inhabited,” the State Commission said.

The process which ended without an incident was carried out by the Azerbaijan State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing People and the country's defense ministry with the mediation of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
