Baku, May 1 (AZERTAC). The leader of the Azerbaijani chess, grandmaster Teimour Radjabov retained his spot in the new ranking of the International Chess Federation (FIDE).

Radjabov takes 5th place with 2784 points.

Azeri grandmasters Vugar Hashimov dropped 3 spots and Shahriyar Mammadyarov 9 spots to 17th and 22nd in the world rating respectively.

Norwegian grandmaster Magnus Carlsen remained a top (2826) in the ranking.

The main cause of Mamedyarov`s sliding down the ranking is his poor performance at the European championship, and his refusal from participation in this competition.
