Azerbaijani peacekeepers leave for Afghanistan

Baku, July 12, AZERTAC

A 44-man group of Azerbaijani servicemen was seen off to Afghanistan to serve on a rotating basis within the NATO-led "Resolute Support" mission, Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said.

Azerbaijan launched its peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan on November 20, 2002.

It now includes 90 servicemen, 2 medical officers and 2 sappers.
