Azerbaijan`s Prosecutor General chairs meeting of IACA Assembly Bureau

Azerbaijan`s Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov has chaired a meeting of the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) Assembly Bureau held at the UN headquarters in Vienna.
The event brought together high representatives of Bureau member states, ambassadors of the countries that chair the regional groups operating under the UN.
The participants discussed a number of issues, including preparations for the 4th session of IACA`s Assembly of Parties that will take place in Vienna from 9 to 11 December, draft resolutions that are expected to be adopted during the session, and elections to the Board of the Assembly.
Addressing the meeting, Garalov highlighted reforms carried out under President Ilham Aliyev to combat corruption in Azerbaijan. He stressed the importance of international cooperation in the fight against corruption, described it as one of the "successful initiatives" of IACA.
On the sidelines of the event, Prosecutor General Garalov held meetings with Dean and Executive Secretary of IACA Martin Kreutner, permanent representative of Turkey for UN Office in Vienna Emine Birnur Fertekligil and representatives of Bureau member states.
Kreutner hailed the 3rd session of the Assembly held in Baku last November, and stressed Azerbaijan`s role in the activity of the organization.
