Azerbaijan`s Silk Way Airlines and Boeing, the world's largest aerospace company, have signed an agreement on the purchase of 10 Boeing-737 MAX aircrafts. The total cost of the deal is one billion US dollars.
The agreement was signed by Zaur Akhundov, president of Silk Way Holding, and Marty Bentrott, Boeing Vice President for Sales, Middle East, Russia & Central Asia.
The deal was signed in the presence of AZAL president Jahangir Asgarov and US ambassador to Azerbaijan Robert Cekuta.
Based on preliminary discussions with the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM Bank), the purchase of aircrafts will be financed without state guarantees for the first time in the history of Azerbaijan’s civil aviation.
