Baku hosts World Water Council session

The 61st session of the World Water Council under the slogan "Water is not only the source of life, but life itself" has kicked off in the Azerbaijani capital as part of the 1st Baku International Water Week.
Co-organized by Azersu company and Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, the session marked the centennial of the commissioning of Shollar-Baku Water Facilities Complex. It addresses the key issues as clean and sustainable water resources, access to sanitation services, environmental and ecological conditions, as well as climate change and drought.
The Azerbaijani President's Assistant for Economic Issues, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Ali Asadov read out President Ilham Aliyev's congratulatory message to the conference participants.
The Water Week will also feature the 4th International Steering Committee's 8th World Water Forum.
The event brought together representatives of nearly 40 countries, international organizations and business circles.
