The organizing committee for the European Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships, which is due to take place in Minsk in 2015, will be set up in Belarus. The relevant executive order No.262p of 3 August was signed by Belarus Premier Andrei Kobyakov, AZERTAC learnt from BelTA.
In accordance with the decree, the organizing committee will be mandated to develop and adopt a plan of activities. If necessary, the organizing committee may involve the preparation of the championship leaders and specialists of the republican bodies of state administration and other state organizations subordinate to the Government of Belarus, the Minsk City Executive Committee, as well as local government areas of the capital and other organizations.
The committee will be led by First Vice President of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus Maxim Ryzhenkov.
Under the document, the organizing committee will develop and approve the action plan for the forthcoming competitions. If needed, the organizing committee may also invite specialists of the national government bodies and other state organizations subordinate to the government of Belarus, the Minsk City Hall as well as Minsk local administrations and other organizations.
