A delegation of the Blue Marine Foundation (the UK world-renowned organization for the protection of the marine environment) led by its chairperson Charles Clover at the invitation of Leyla Aliyeva, Founder of the IDEA Public Association, has visited Azerbaijan.
In the frame of the visit, a documentary “End of the line” shot by Blue Marine Foundation was showcased. The documentary, which was shown at the IDEA's Resource Center, was welcomed by students of numerous higher educational institutions of Baku.
After the viewing, Clover and other employees of the Blue Marine Foundation talked about the organization and the projects it runs. Students were given the opportunity to ask a series of questions.
During the visit, the guests met with Leyla Aliyeva, IDEA Founder and Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
At the meeting, discussed were issues related to ecological conditions in the Caspian Sea as well as the protection of its fauna and flora.
All guests were given information related to the steps which the organization took in regards to the protection of the marine environment and all other fields of interest.
The sides emphasized the significance of continuing such mutually beneficial cooperation and dialogue.
Later, the delegation met with Huseyungulu Bagirov, minister of ecology and natural resources.
The Blue Marine Foundation was established in 2010 by the team behind The End of the Line to protect the world oceans. Its aim is to protect 20% of the world ocean by 2020.
