British Council Azerbaijan, Pasha Bank launch media training program on business topics

British Council Azerbaijan and PashaBank start a media training program on business topics in Baku.
The project`s aim is to promote professional reporting in the country and notably contributing to raising the standards of business reporting in Azerbaijan.
This is a unique project based on previous successful projects for journalists organized since 2011. This year the project is aimed at strengthening professional competencies and skills of the national media through a special training program tailored to the needs of the selected journalists.
The British Council and PashaBank have selected 11 professional business journalists representing the leading news and broadcasting agencies in Azerbaijan, including AZERTAC, Trend, Lider TV, Regional TV, Banko.az, Fins.az, Gun.az, ANS TV, E-Government news portal. The journalists will undertake customized business reporting course and finally the selected journalists will pay an exchange visit to some of the leading media establishments in the United Kingdom, meet with prominent business journalists in summer 2014.
The program will be implemented in cooperation with the United Kingdom’s Thomson Foundation, which is one of Europe’s biggest media organizations empowering thousands of journalists worldwide to generate and sustain a diverse media and working in over 100 countries towards encouraging the highest ethical and professional standards in media.
