CIS Information Council to meet in Dushanbe

The 21st meeting of the CIS State Information Agencies Council will be held on March 15-16 in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. Participants of the meeting will summarize 2015 activities of news agencies, discuss cooperation plans for the current year. The meeting will also accentuate issues of cooperation between CIS photo services and preparation for 25th anniversary of the Commonwealth, which will be celebrated in December. Leaders of state information agencies will also mull the implementation of joint projects.
Director General of TASS and Chairman of CIS State Information Agencies Council Sergey Mikhailov, heads of the state news agencies of Azerbaijan (AZERTAC), Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Russia, Armenia, representatives of the CIS Executive Committee will take part in the meeting.
An agreement to set up the CIS Information Council was signed in Moscow in 1995 to promote the development of information exchange between the countries of the Commonwealth. The Council pays great attention to the development of news agencies and new media interaction.
