CIS Interstate Council for Hydrometeorology to hold regular meeting
Participants will discuss activity of national hydro-meteorological services, their interaction within the CIS and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), realization of the 2014 Joint Action Plan on implementation of the Concept of hydro-meteorological safety of the CIS member states for 2011-2015, implementation of the Agreement on the interstate hydro-meteorological CIS network, implementation of the plan of measures on realization of the strategy of development of hydro-meteorological activity of the CIS member states and other questions.
A conference, “Impact of Global Climate Changes on the Glaciers and Water Resources” will be held prior to the session.
Azerbaijan on both actions will be represented by prof. Rza Mahmudov, director of the Research Institute of Hydrometeorology of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.
Secretary-General of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) will take part in meetings of the XXVI session as an observer.
The CIS Interstate Council for Hydrometeorology has been founded on February 8, 1992 according to the Agreement on interaction in the field of hydrometeorology.
Sessions of the Council are held as required, but at least once a year.
