Colombian Senate adopts resolution on 25th anniversary of Khojaly genocide

The Senate of the Republic of Colombia has adopted a resolution on the 25th anniversary of Khojaly genocide.

The resolution was handed to head of Azerbaijan`s diplomatic mission in Colombia Ramil Farzaliyev.

In the resolution, the Colombian Senate expresses solidarity with the people of Azerbaijan who mourn the 25th anniversary of the victims of Khojaly genocide, when 613 Azerbaijani civilians, including children, women and the elderly, were murdered by the separatists in the Nagorno-Karabakh in the town of Khojaly.

The Colombian Senate urges Armenia to fulfill UN Security Council resolutions demanding the withdrawal of the Armenian armed forces from Azerbaijan`s occupied lands.

Ramil Farzaliyev thanked the Senate of Colombia for demonstrating solidarity with the people of Azerbaijan.

In 2012, the Colombian Senate adopted a resolution on the occupation of Azerbaijan`s territories.
