“Construction of Potable Water Supply System in Kochvelili Village of Agstafa Region” project completed

A hand-over ceremony of the Project for “Construction of Potable Water Supply System in Kochvelili Village of Agstafa Region” implemented under “Grassroots and Human Security Grant Assistance Programme” provided by the Japanese government will be held in Kochvelili village, Agstafa, on Monday.
The grant contract on the project was signed between the Embassy of Japan and “Assistance to the Solution of Social Problems of Youth” NGO on September 29, 2014.
The project aimed to construct water supply system in Kochvelili village in order to improve water provision for local residents. The total amount of the Japanese Grant Assistance for the project is $103,092.
“Grassroots and Human Security Grant Assistance Programme” support projects applied by municipalities, medical institutions, and NGOs, aiming directly at the improvement of living standards of Azerbaijani people. Such projects might be implemented in the field of poverty reduction, social protection, infrastructure, public health and increase of incomes. The total number of projects contracted in Azerbaijan including these projects is 195, and the amount is $16,540,056.
The total amount of Japan’s Official Development Assistance provided for the Republic of Azerbaijan is over $1 billion, covering a wide range of areas such as improvement of economic infrastructure, agricultural and social sectors, cultural field as well as human capacity development.
