EANA meets in Bratislava

Slovakian TASR Agency has hosted a European Alliance of News Agencies (EANA) Conference titled "Securing Independent News Agencies in the Digital World" in Bratislava.
The conference brought together more than 30 news agencies of Europe, including Press Association, Agence France Presse, TASS, Anadolu Agency, DPA, APA, and Ukrinform. AZERTAC`s Director General Aslan Aslanov also attended the meeting.
In his remarks, President of EANA, Press Association CEO Clive Marshall expressed his hope that the conference would contribute to deepening the exchange of experience among the member agencies. He highlighted the challenges faced by news agencies amid growing social media domination.
TASR Director General Jaroslav Reznik described the changes in the internet media as a strong impetus for news agencies to be constantly ready for innovations and for their closer cooperation.
Head of Media Partnerships EMEA, Facebook and cooperation with news publishers Nick Wrenn hailed big opportunities created for the media by social networks.
The conference also provided an insight into the copyrights of the photos published by the news agencies, robot journalism and a use of artificial intelligence in preparing and disseminating information.
AZERTAC highlighted preparations for the 5th News Agencies World Congress to be held in Baku on November 15-18.
