Earthquake in magnitude of 5.2 shakes Turkey’s Antalya

5.2 magnitude earthquake epicentered in Demre district of Turkey’s Antalya province panics locals, trtworld informs.
30 minor quakes have shaken Turkey throughout Tuesday night, but one in Antalya at magnitude of 5.2 sparked panic among locals that flooded the streets.
Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) Earthquake Directorate data have showed that 30 minor quakes have occurred in Turkey from late Tuesday night until 7:13 am in Wednesday morning.
More than half of the quakes took place in the Aegean region while southwestern Mugla province was center of the most quakes with 8 different quakes in seven hours.
Meanwhile, the locals became concerned following the 5.2 magnitude earthquake in Ucagiz neighborhood of Demre in Antalya province and left their homes for the streets, as security officers tried to calm the residents down.
Some people were locked out due to leaving their homes in panic and were aided by fire crews.
A resident, Kemal Yildirim, told media that “Had the earthquake lasted longer, the buildings would have collapsed.”
No report of damage on any life or property has been recorded so far.
