Eastern Partnership Business Forum discussed in Latvia

Latvia’s Foreign Minister, Edgars Rinkevics, met Markus J. Beyrer, Director General of BUSINESSEUROPE, a confederation of European business, to discuss the upcoming Eastern Partnership Business Forum.
The Forum is going to be the largest business-related event during Latvia’s EU Presidency and has been scheduled for 21 May 2015.
Edgars Rinkevics noted that strengthening of cooperation with the Eastern Partnership countries is one of Latvia’s priorities for its Presidency. To reaffirm the importance of the Eastern Partnership, a number of events will be organised in Riga, including the Business Forum, in which it is expected that the business community from the Eastern Partnership countries, EU member states, and countries interested in partnership with the EU, will be well represented.
Edgars Rinkevics highly appreciated the involvement of BUSINESSEUROPE in preparations for the Business Forum and expressed satisfaction with the successful cooperation between BUSINESSEUROPE, the Employers’ Confederation of Latvia, and the Latvian Foreign Ministry.
The Eastern Partnership Business Forum will take place on May 21 this year, bringing together approximately 500 participants from the EU and the Eastern Partnership countries, and other countries interested in cooperation. The Employers’ Group of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), the European Investment Bank, as well as the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Eurochambres are engaged as strategic partners.
