Embassy of Hungary presented Azerbaijani fairy tales in Hungarian

Embassy of Hungary in the Republic of Azerbaijan has organized presentation of the book “101 Azerbaijani Fairy Tales". The staff of the Embassy of Hungary in the country, the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, representatives of the public and media bodies took part at the event.

The edition was published in three volumes in Hungarian with a circulation of 1000 copies with assistance of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan and the Hungary-Azerbaijan Friendship Society.

The editor, compiler and translator of the edition is Svetlana Abdullayeva, compatriot, the chairperson of the Hungary-Azerbaijan Friendship Society, who more than 30 years lives in Hungary.

The three-volume edition includes famous national Azerbaijani fairy tales.

In his opening remarks, the ambassador of Hungary in Azerbaijan Imre Laszlotski noted that the closeness of the Hungarian and Azerbaijani peoples create beautiful ground for implementation of many projects. Noting that the Embassy of Hungary in Azerbaijan holds various events in humanitarian and cultural spheres, the diplomat highlighted the role of the First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva Aliyeva and the Heydar Aliyev Center in assistance to these projects.

Speaking at the event, Svetlana Abdullayeva told about work on the edition, creative approach to the translation of the Azerbaijani fairy tales into Hungarian language. She expressed hope that these books will become an irreplaceable resource both for the students learning Hungarian and for ordinary readers of all age.
