A faculty of Azerbaijani language and literature will be set up at one of the universities in the Azerbaijani province in Iran next academic year, according to Iranian deputy Minister of Education Mujtaba Shariati.
He said the right of different ethnicities in Iran to receive education in their native language is ensured by the Iranian government. “Last year we opened the faculty of Kurdish language and literature at a university in Kurdistan province.”
“Work is now underway to establish the faculty of Azerbaijani language and literature,” he said. “We will draw up a program that will allow graduates of this faculty to be provided with jobs,” Shariati added.
