No1 seeds Germany were knocked out by Belarus in the quarterfinals of the women's team archery event.
It is the second successive day Germany has failed to live up to its high seeding after the ranking round.
The top-seeded Germans were knocked out in the quarterfinals of the archery women's team event by Belarus at the Tofiq Bahramov Stadium on Thursday.
Germany's team of Lisa Unruh, Elena Richter and Karina Winter shot the highest combined score after the women's ranking round to earn the No1 seed.
But No9 seed Belarus triumphed 6-2 in their quarterfinal match, progressing to a semifinal against Ukraine.
After winning the opening set 54-50, Germany started to struggle and Richter said the conditions got the better of her.
"I think we had a little trouble with the wind because it was difficult for us to read it right," she said. "We got a little lost I think. I can only speak for me, but I think it was a problem.
It is the second day Germany couldn't live up to seeding expectations, after UNRUH and Florian Kahllund, the second seeds, lost their opening mixed team event match against No15 seed Slovenia on Wednesday.
