The fifth session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking countries has been held in Astana, to discuss the socio-cultural and humanitarian issues.
Participants of the meeting - Senate and Majilis MPs from Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, members of the Secretariat of TurkPA, the Turkic Council, the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), representatives of the diplomatic corps - discussed cooperation in terms of disaster management and crisis.
Majilis deputy Sauytbek Abdrakhmanov noted the countries may respond all global challenges only preserving traditional friendship.
"TurkPA is one of the mechanisms to strengthen friendship between our countries. It is particularly important in terms of today’s world challenges", - said S. Abdrakhmanov.
Reports were addressed by Deputy of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Mustafa Bozkurt, chairman of the Committee for Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Vladimir Becker.
Becker reported on the ongoing work in the field of emergency prevention and disaster management, the predictive scheme for spatial development of the country until 2020, five-year program for the development of territories including integrated and preventive measures for the development of engineering infrastructure to counter various forms typical emergencies.
To exchange experiences there was an international seminar gathering rescue units "Kazspas" including with teams of Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan.
In addition, work on the creation of regional structures in Kazakhstan was carried out to counter emergencies. Together with Kyrgyzstan, the Centre of Emergency and Disaster Risk Reduction was established in Almaty.
